Chic Low Bun with Goody Spin Pins

Simple Bun Updo with Goody

I always get a lot of question about my bun hairstyles! I’ve worn my hair long since I was a teenager and I love to experiment with different updos. Today I’m sharing how to create a low bun that’s perfect for formal or casual occasions using the Goody® Simple Styles™ Spin Pin. I had heard about the Spin Pin but I’d never actually tried it and I can honestly say I was blown away. Typically I use 10 or more bobby pins to create a bun but I achieved the same look with only 2 spin pins and it took about 5 minutes.

Here’s what you’ll need to create this look:
Goody® Clean Radiance™ Paddle Brush
Goody® Simple Styles™ Spin Pin

Start with clean, textured hair and 2 Goody Spin Pins of your color choice. My hair is blonde but because it’s darker around the roots I chose the ‘Brunette’ pins.

First brush through hair using the Goody® Clean Radiance™ Paddle Brush. I really like this brush because it keeps my hair tangle free and healthy. Its copper bristles massage the scalp and helps reduce buildup so your hair can retain its natural moisture.

Once brushed, part the hair where you prefer and gather at the base of the neck as if you were creating a low ponytail. No need to secure with an elastic!

Next twist the hair tightly in a clockwise motion until the end of the ponytail.

Begin to wrap the hair clockwise around itself to create a bun. Take the first Spin Pin and with the open end put it at the base of the bun. Then twist the pin clockwise until the pin is twisted fully into the bun.

Next, take the second pin and repeat the process at the top of the bun.
Once both pins are twisted fully into the hair the bun is totally secure. I will say I was skeptical, but the two pins kept my bun in place all day and I didn’t even have any hair falling out even though my hair is quite layered! I pulled out a few strands in the front to make the bun more messy and casual and I love the look!
